(WA, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Calphalon Unison Nonstick 3 Quart Saute Pan with Lid (Kitchen) I learned how to cook at the tender age of ten, thanks to 4-H Home Economics back in the day. From even back then, the need for quality cookware was drilled into me. I've always had the best I could afford (which, for many years, wasn't much - especially during the negative-income days of the college years) and for a long time that meant having one stainless-steel saute pan and one nonstick saute pan. I'd use the stainless when I wanted to create a lovely browned meat and then deglaze the pan with wine or broth. The nonstick pan got pulled out when I was making something more delicate, such as a fish fillet. This year, my ten-year-old nonstick saute bit the dust. I noted the coating starting to bubble a bit, and I wasn't willing to risk using it any longer. I began my search for a replacement and was led to the Calphalon Unison line. After much research and hemming and hawing, I decided to go with the reasonably-priced 3-qt. saute - the exact size match to my old pan... In 10 years we have had to have 3 returned to Calphalon for no fuss replacement, which happens quickly - super customer service. 3 needed to be replaced due to years of use, well worth the cost of the pans to get 10 years out of them. As long as you follow the directions for care, Calphalon is amazing. I have learned the hard way that you DO NOT run cold water into your hot pan, DO NOT make hard candy in your non-stick pans (candy making better suited for hard anodized). The Unison is the newest pan I have tried. I LOVE IT. It heats nicely, cooks evenly and cleans up beautifully. I cannot attest to washing them in the dishwasher, I can't even see why you would need do. I use a wash cloth and soap and everything wipes right out. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful By Mom of 3 (Encino, CA United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Calphalon Unison Nonstick 6 Quart Saute Pan with Lid (Kitchen) I am upgrading my original Caphalon to the Unison line. It is everything that the original was and is non-stick and can go in the dishwasher. A great investment. |
